New Resident Guide

1)  Get a Florida Driver's License. Use OASIS (Online Appointment Service and Information System) and reduce waiting in line. Then complete an on-line pre-application. View office hours, locations and phone numbers.

2)  Apply for Florida auto insurance.  Ask your current company if they insure in Florida.  If not try Auto Club, Mercury, etc.

3)  Title, Registration, License Plates. To register your car for the first time in the State of Florida: bring the original title, proof of required insurance, and all applicable fees to your nearest county tax collector's office or license plate agency. Vehicle registration is valid for one year, a period which usually begins in the vehicle owner's birth month. (Fleet vehicles owned by a company all use the month of June.) Even if you register your car late, you'll still be required to pay the full registration fee.
