This growing community was incorporated in 1911, after rising along the route of the first railroad to cross central Florida. Today its eight square miles include a population of about 9,500, but many more live in surrounding areas.

Auburndale is a center of warehousing, manufacturing and distribution, and is located astride US 92, and in close proximity to Interstate 4. Retailing in Auburndale has expanded greatly in recent years, even as civic leaders have wrought a renaissance in the historic downtown section. A beautiful central park is a popular destination for children and adults alike.
The city provides residents with an active and extensive recreation program, and features include a very nice city beach on a fresh-water lake. Several beautiful residential neghborhoods border the city's large lakes, some featuring stately historic homes, others brand new housing developments.
