This Seminole County city in Central Florida has a population in excess of 30,000. The city has sister relationship with Oviedo, Spain. The city of Oviedo is currently planning a brand new downtown development just southeast of the current 'old downtown'. The new town center will be a mixed-use development including townhomes, single family living, apartment homes, restaurants, retail, and a planned amphitheater. Phase I is due to commence construction in the first quarter of 2007.
